March Events 2025

It may be cold now but spring will be here before you know it! In the meantime, we have all kinds of fun events in store for you! This month you can drink your way through the mountains with the return of the Georgia Wine Highway and Georgia Beer Day. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Blue Ridge’s annual St. Paddy’s Day Parade and you can even participate in Mercier Orchards first annual Hard Cider 5K Run/Walk. Mark your calendars for these fun events happening in and around Blue Ridge this month! 


Georgia Beer Day

March 1st  

Location: Angry Hops Brewing, Grumpy Old Men Brewing, Tipping Point Brewing Co. 

Celebrate Georgia Beer Day at Angry Hops Brewing, Grumpy Old Men Brewing or Tipping Point Brewing Co.! They’re the only breweries in Blue Ridge to have the limited Georgia beer pint glass so you’ll want to get there before they run out. Drop by any of these breweries for food trucks, beer, and a good time! 


Trash & Treasures Sale

March 1st 

Location: Union County Civic Center 


One man’s trash in another man’s treasure! Come on out for Union County Lions Club’s  annual Trash to Treasure Sale! There will be over 40 vendors in attendance selling all kinds of gently used items. There will also be a selection of tasty food for sale. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Vision Conservation programs of the Lions Club.


Big Canoe Photography and Art Exhibit 

March 1st-March 28th 

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association

Admire local photographers, from the Big Canoe Photography & Art Club, and their amazing photos at the Art Center this month. The photos on display capture the beauty of nature, moments of everyday life, and imaginative compositions, all while celebrating artistic expression and community connection.


Artist in Residence: Robert Choe-Henderson

Come on out to the Art Center to admire Korean American, Robert Choe Henderson’s beautiful papermaking and book art techniques on display in the gallery through March 29th.


Healing through Color

Celebrate the start of Youth Art Month with a special exhibition “Healing Through Color”. The opening reception will take place Thursday, February 27th at 3:30pm-5:30pm. The exhibition will be on display from the opening reception on February 27th thru March 29th.

Glow In The Dark Sporting Clays

March 5th 

Location: Noontootla Creek Farms

Come on down to Noontootla Creek Farms for some after hours fun! You’ll arrive at 6:30 to a delicious dinner then head out to the pavilion for glow in the dark sporting clay games. The winner will even take home a prize! Your $75 reservation includes dinner and 50 clays per person. Don’t miss out on this fun clay shooting experience!


Guided Hikes with the Benton McKaye Trail Association

March 5th-March 28th 

Location: Cherry Log, GA

Explore the beauty of North Georgia on a guided hiking tour with the Benton McKaye Trail Association. They offer 2-4 hikes a month varying in difficulty from easy, leisurely hikes to moderately difficult hikes.

March 5th: Miller Trek Trail at Brasstown Resort. 5 miles. Hike is easy/moderate.

March 7th: Talking Rock. DOG-FRIENDLY HIKE. Easy/moderate 5 miles.

March 21st: Upper two loops on Springer Mountain. DOG-FRIENDLY HIKE. Moderate 5 miles.

March 22nd: Skeenah Gap to Wilscot Gap on the BMT. Moderately/strenuous 5.3 miles.

March 28th: Pickens’s Nose Trail outside of Franklin, NC. 1.4-mile out and back trail.


Karaoke Nights

March 6th-March 27th 

Location: Tooney’s Music Venue

Pick up the mic and sing along to your favorite songs every Thursday night at Tooney’s from 6pm-11pm for Karaoke! Open mic performers are welcome on the area’s biggest stage! Grab yourself a cold beer or fine wine and enjoy the night! 


Wizard of Oz 

March 6th-March 29th 

Location: Blue Ridge Community Theater 

Everyone loves the classic film, Wizard of Oz! And now is your chance to watch Blue Ridge Community Theater’s interpretation of this beloved film. Follow Dorothy Gale and her new companions as they travel through the beautiful and mysterious land of Oz to stop the evil Wicked Witch and find the Wizard who will send Dorothy back home to Kansas. Shows are Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. The show runs March 6th-29th.  Please call the box office at 706-632-9191 for tickets.

Blue Ridge Community Theater is hosting a special Murder Mystery  Dinner Theater show at Kaya Vineyards in Dahlonega. Dinner will be a special low country pasta with chicken and sausage, and performances will be based off  of Laura Elizabeth’s second murder mystery. Dinner Theater performances are March 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, and 16th with dinner served at 6pm and the show starting at 7pm. Don’t miss out, only a limited amount of tickets available! 


Winery Comedy Night

Folk Collaborative Classes & Workshops

The Folk Collaborative is dedicated to keeping the art of Appalachian culture alive and well. Through their monthly classes, you too can learn the history and culture of the Appalachian people. Mericer Orchard’s Hard Cider 5K Run/Walk

March 29th 

Location: Mercier Orchards 

Get ready for Mercier Orchards first 5K run/walk! Run or walk your way through the beautiful orchard landscape and then enjoy a delicious hard cider once you cross the finish line! Your race registration will include a T-shirt, a 12oz stemless cider glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a bottle opener, a race bib, a cider donut, and one pour of cider! The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour

March 29th 

Location: Union County Fine Arts Center

Head to the Union County Fine Arts Center for a day full of nature and film! Hosted by The Georgia Appalachian Trail Club and in support of the GATC’s mission to preserve, promote, and protect the trail, the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour aims to inspire and excite nature lovers and hikers with a variety of short films that explore remote and beautiful locations all over the world. All the fun runs from 2pm-5pm.
