Celebrate the inherent beauty and boundless possibilities of the timeless medium of wood at Forms of the Forest: Artistry in Wood exhibit from April 5th-May 31st. The beautiful pieces on display were created through wood carving, woodworking, woodturning, marquetry, pyrography, and intarsia. The opening reception will be April 5th from 5pm-7pm.

Doubt, a Parable

This Tony award winning play follows the story of a Bronx Catholic school principal, who suspects improper relations between a charismatic priest and a student. American Legion Auxiliary Kids & Adults Easter Egg Hunt

Get excited for American Legion’s annual kids Easter egg hunt from 1am-3pm in Ellijay! There will be eggs, drinks, desserts, and a prize basket raffle for 1 boy and 1 girl in age groups age 0-6 and 7-13. Then from 5pm-7pm the American Legion will be hosting an Adult Easter Egg Hunt! First Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The Rhododendron Festival

Sasquatch Strut 5K 

April 19th 

Location: Harrison Park Ellijay 

Runners get ready for the 4th Annual Sasquatch Strut 5K in Harrison Park! Participants will run along the park trails and McCutchen Street. After the race, runners and spectators can enjoy live music & food vendors. The race helps to raise funds for the Friends of Harrison Park organization and encourages exercise and outdoor activities within in the community.

April 25th 

Location: The Blue Ridge Arts Association 

Kick off Trout Fest weekend with a special fly fishing film at the Blue Ridge Arts Association! Blue Ridge Mountain Trout Unlimited (BRMTU) and Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association (BRMAA) present Catch It-On Film, which is a selection of regionally curated short films that feature all things fishing in the North Georgia/Appalachian region. And before the film showing, from 5pm-7pm, there will be food, beverages, raffles, a silent auction of fine outdoor gear and the camaraderie of the outdoor-recreation community, raising funds and building greater awareness for local cold-water resources. Fishing enthusiasts are going to love it!

Southern Girls Ghost Tour

2025 Georgia Mountain Needle Arts Festival

Location: Gilmer County Civic Center

Knitters, you’re going to love this next event! Join us at the Gilmer County Civic Center for the 2025 Georgia Mountain Needle Arts Festival! The festival will showcase 15-20 vendors, each coordinated to bring you unique products. And special guest teacher, Emily Wood, will even be offering 4 knitting technique classes! Admission is $5 a person and it’s open 10am-5pm Friday & Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sunday. 


Run for the Rhodos

Woofstock

Ellijay is hosting a doggone awesome party at this year’s Woofstock event! This dog-friendly day features vendors, food trucks, entertainment, and contests for you and your favorite four legged friends! Proceeds from the event will benefit FOGAS programs for spay/neuter clinics, vaccination clinics, TNR programs, educational programs, and vetting of shelter animals going to rescue.


Enchanted Spring Fling

The talented, George Charriez will be putting on a special Pyrography demonstration at 4 Elements Fine Art & Custom Framing on Saturday, April 26th at 2pm. This is a perfect demonstration to get you excited for the Blue Ridge Trout Festival, the demo will have fire meeting wood to create stunning fish-inspired art. Come celebrate the spirit of the trout, watch fire bring art to life, and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature through pyrography!

Run 3.1 miles through 2 states! The 5K takes place in the beautiful twin cities of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN. Food, drinks, and music will be ready for your enjoyment before and after the race. Come on out and get ready to RACE!

The Blue Ridge Trout and Outdoor Adventures Festival is back for the 8th year in a row and bigger than ever! Learn all about fly fishing from dozens of local guides. There will even be outdoor activities to try out like a climbing wall, a mountain bike course, axe throwing, gem mining, and more! After your adventures shop for beautiful outdoor art made by local artists and have some food & drink in the beer garden. You won’t want to miss out on all the fun!
