Almost Everest

Consistently our favorite cabin to stay at while visiting BR without our fur babies. We always enjoy the beautiful view, as well as the peace and quiet. Not to mention the cabin itself is very charming.

Beautiful timeless craftsmanship with unique touches, such as the stunning fireplace, makes this cabin one of our very favorites over the many years we've visited Blue Ridge. The view is outstanding and very peaceful. One of a kind.

The view was exceptionally beautiful, with woods below, no visible cabin neighbors, and spectacular sunsets beyond the overlapping mountain ranges. We also greatly appreciated the unique architecture of the home, craftsmanship (dovetailing even indoors), the 2-story glass view from inside the home, the expansive decks, that the dining room had chairs instead of benches, the powder room on the main floor, and the 3 bedroom suites on 3 levels. The kitchen was a little tight for 2 people to work in, but was well-equipped and had plenty of cabinet and counter space so not at all a deal-breaker.. One of the most important things for us since we don't have an SUV or 4-wheel-drive vehicle is that the roads to the cabin were all paved and that the driveway was also paved. The other was that it had a powder room on the main floor, which given our creaky knees avoided going up and down stairs to use the bathroom.

What I loved the most was how beautifully designed and decorated the cabin was. Very clean & spacious also. The view was immaculate! Absolutely stunning views of the Blue Ridge mountains. Words and pictures cannot do any justice.

The cabin was perfect for our vacation needs. We used all the unique spaces from deck, game table, fireplace in screen area and loft office. The location was beautiful and views spectacular. We enjoyed exploring the area around for wine tasting, hiking and visiting unique shops. It made for a hot tub relaxing and safe Covid vacation.

This home was beautiful! The views from the deck were gorgeous and endless. There was a variety of seating the deck for comfort while enjoying the views. The home was spacious on the inside with large bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas. Windows in the home allowed a lot of natural light in and positioned perfectly to enjoy the views.

We absolutely loved the wrap around balcony and view of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting outside on the well furnished balcony in the late afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cabin was beautiful and I believe nicest one we've stayed in. Thank You!

We enjoyed the scenery and how everything we needed for the cabin was there in the cabin. We actually didn't have to bring some of the items we brought. Plus, there was plenty of seats for us to sit anywhere in the cabin. The porch and the view were the things we loved most.

10/18 - The spaciousness was fantastic....and the view was second to none! Very clean and even though there were 6 adults it didn't feel crowded at all. Kitchen was very well stocked. Very pleased. Look forward to doing this again.

11/18 - The view from the deck of Almost Everest was spectacular! The layout of the home was perfect for our needs, two couples, one in their early 70's, one in our early 50's. It would also be perfect for families with children. I have gone through Escape to Blue Ridge for the last several years. I have always had a great experience with the staff and the quality of the rentals. We are planning our next trip to the Blue Ridge area.

Escape to Blue Ridge seems to be a well run operation. Overall, it has been a pleasant experience working with the reservations folks and other staff.

12/16- Our family had a wonderful Christmas vacation at your cabin. The accommodations were excellent and the views were spectacular. The "Almost Everest" name is appropriate. We had everything that we needed in the cabin to feel right at home. We especially enjoyed the indoor & outdoor wood burning fireplaces. The location was perfect as you had that secluded feeling but you were close to the shops & restaurants in Blue Ridge. We are definitely considering a return trip next year. The staff was very professional, friendly, & answered all of our questions. The best staff that I have worked with for a vacation rental.

04/16- The cabin is an extremely beautiful place. The view from the deck is incredible. Accessing the cabin from the directions given was very helpful because my GPS didn't have accurate info. The only hiccup was when the access code to the cabin stopped working one day before my departure but was resolved quickly by the staff named Karen. Thank you.

08/16- The view was wonderful. At night, the stars and the moon were so bright! I love the huge bath tub in the master bath. I wished it was cooler so we could use the fireplace. Brand new grill worked great. Lots of room and very clean. We did not even use the downstairs!

09/14- The home was everything we expected it to be. This was my family first time staying in a cabin and they LOVE it. From the furniture to the cleanest was just wonderful. The third level was really nice, altho we didn't spend much time down there except to sleep. The top floor was my favorite (my sleep area) the bedroom was hugh. Because we all are TV people it would have been nice to have a TV in each bedroom as well. The view was just to die for and we will always remember ALMOST EVEREST LODGE because we will be back in the future

06/15- Beautiful well-built log home with exceptional layout and view. Decks designed for all kinds of weather. Quiet, sound-proof rooms. House obviously designed with a lot of thought and understanding. Hot tub out of the way where it cannot be heard from rest of house (we've been in cabins with other companies where the hot tub was annoyingly noisy as it cycled). We will be back!

08/15- The view!! Also loved the stacked stone fireplaces, the porch and the kitchen. Very impressed with your company. We had a little hiccough with the key. They called back immediately. This is the second time we have used you to rent a cabin.

02/15- The breathtaking views were even more spectacular than expected. Also it was very convenient having private bathrooms for each bedroom. The cabin was roomy, clean, and very comfortable. Outdoor living areas were beautiful, and we would like to visit again when the temps are much warmer. Great visit and great cabin for a family retreat. Very impressed with the caring staff. All our questions were answered promptly and all issues were resolved in a timely manner. Maybe it was in the correspondence and I just missed it, but did not realize our cabin door code would not work until promptly at 3 p.m. We arrived only 15 minutes early due to a Winter Storm Warning issued by the Nat'l weather service and the door code did not work. However, we will definitely select Escape to Blue Ridge for all future reservations. Great visit!

08/15- The views from the home were great; the size was perfect for our family of four; the home was clean and well-kept. Always excellent; the items in need of attention are minor, but given your company's attention to detail, I knew you would want to know this; the only other minor issue is that the description of the cabin was "in a gated community", but the gate only closed from 7pm to 7am; again, not a big problem, but I thought that this detail should be disclosed in the description. EBR is a great company; I continue to be a "walking advertisement" for EBR, here in Louisiana; I appreciate the excellent cabins, locations, and responsiveness to questions/emails. Thanks for another wonderful vacation!!!!

The house as a whole is great; great view it just needs some upkeep/maintenance, especially with what you are charging to rent it. I know that we paid a cleaning deposit but really felt that you probably should be paying us as we had to carry water to clean the screened porch so we could sit out and have a fire. Examples are: the porches have not been cleaned in quite a while. The porch with the outdoor fireplace had so much pollen that we attempted to clean it; however, the water facet outside does not work, the rocking chairs are falling apart, the casual table on the deck was barely put together, the chair cushions are nasty, the area where the grill is at is very nasty. The yard is being overtaken by weeds and dead shrubs. There were no cocktail glasses in the house. We have rented with you previously and the previous cabin was spotless and in perfect condition.

11/16- The view was exceptional; the beds were very comfortable, and the towels were more than adequate. It was an added bonus to have shampoo, body lotion, and shower gel supplied, also. The showers were wonderful, all being walk-in. Plenty of TV's were provided to keep everybody happy. The kitchen was well equipped. The provided wood pile outside was a lovely plus!!! Your company is very well-organized and works to meet the needs of its customers with expediency. We would love to come back if we don't end up purchasing our own cabin in the future! Thank you.
