Welcome to Lone Star lodge, deep in the heart of Blue Ridge and deeply connected to all things “family.” Here, the experience is about the mountain-region, but the home is what Texas is usually known for – big and laid back! This home is close to Blue Ridge hiking trails and mountain activities, but is also especially near to all of the area’s kid-centric water activities from river tubing to fishing lessons to lake-side sunning and swims.
Mountain views from the home are plentiful, but Lone Star is situated on a gradual-grade lot, making it safer for children and small family dogs to run about. The home is in a semi-remote area making it more easily accessible and closer to good neighbors.
The cabin’s massive 900-square foot covered deck is the perfect place to take the views in, as well as to keep a watchful eye on the little ones out back. There is plenty of deck seating and a huge dining table for 10 is great for casual, family-style meals cooked on the outside grill. A large hot tub and rustic fire pit encourage the gather-round for ghost stories and tall tales.
Inside, the loving Lone Star home gets the clan to kick back with an abundant video and board game library, Play Station Two and ping pong table that keep chatter and cheers going. When it’s time to rest, the home’s three ample bedrooms and loft sleep up to 10 comfortably. Perfect for parents with younger kids, a bedroom on the main level has a comfy queen size bed and is easily accessible to another small room with a twin. Upstairs is a loft bedroom with two full-sized beds. There is also a portable crib and toys for small children. A bunk room for up to four is next to the game room so teenagers can stay up late playing, but the rooms are located downstairs to ensure that everyone else can sleep.
When it comes to family quality-time and fun, the report card for Lone Star lodge is a great value.
