Welcome to Shangri-La, where you’ll be surrounded by blissful quiet and solitude, and sweeping, majestic mountain vistas.  Named for the Simon & Garfunkel song, Sounds of Silence offers a peaceful setting that’s sure to make your heart sing.  This lovely Georgia mountain cabin rental, with its beautiful faceted construction of stone, wood and glass, sits perched like a jewel on an unbelievably steep hill.

Sounds of Silence features striking architecture, polished pine wood walls and flooring, rustic handmade furniture and artistic décor.  The gorgeous great room offers an open plan with panoramic views from every angle.  Whether you’re having a bite to eat at the convenient kitchen island or curled up on the sofa in front of the wood-burning, natural stone fireplace, you can enjoy everyone’s company and awe-inspiring vistas everywhere you turn.

Step out on the deck and relax on the swing, watching the birds frolic and the light play on far off hills.  Feel your stress melt away and appreciate the simple beauty of a butterfly floating by and crickets chirping in nearby blades of grass.  Walk down to the adjoining deck where you can lounge in the hot tub in front of the outdoor wood-burning stone fireplace.  You won’t want to move from this idyllic setting under the stars.

If you’d like to get out and about, you’re conveniently located near town and all the activities in the area.  Spend a morning horseback riding through the hills or go for a rejuvenating hike in the fresh mountain air.  Head to the river and go whitewater rafting, or enjoy a lazy afternoon tubing or swimming.

Back home, the downstairs area is a relaxing haven for kids.  They can while away a leisurely evening playing ping pong and playing music or watching movies, and the adjoining bedroom offers cozy bunk beds for them to nestle into after a fun-filled day.

The main floor queen bedroom suite welcomes you with a handsome hand-carved, bear-themed log bed, and an ensuite bathroom with a jetted tub and walk-in closet.  The queen bedroom upstairs has its own private balcony with captivating east-facing mountain views.  Watch the sunrise with your morning coffee and enjoy the sounds of silence before the house comes alive.
